How does the world see Greece and its culture? Do we share the same perspective? How can we project a truer image of our country and share it with the world?
You Go Culture, which is run by the E-learning Program of the Continuing Education Center of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUoA), is an educational, open-access digital platform that aspires to present Greece to the world through its culture.
The YouGoCulture platform began its mission by depicting the Peloponnese and regions of Attica, while it undertook to highlight the twofold of cultural heritage and modern life around the country.
Via the act4Greece crowdfunding platform, the project sought to gather funds with a view to promoting even more unique destinations of particular cultural value. Thus, in May 2017, a campaign was launched aiming to cover the expenses of context creation with original audio/visual material for the promotion of the areas:
In total, 400 individuals supported the action by making donations of five euro and more. Three companies became “Destination Sponsors”, by contributing to the action with amounts from €7,000 up to €10,000 each. The company “We do local” funded the destination of Knossos – Crete, while, in consultation with the Continuing Education Center of NKUoA, the company “Hellas-Gold” and the Training Institute of the Association of Certified Accountants contributed so as to add further destinations: the ancient city of Stagira and Corfu. Through the act4Greece crowdfunding platform, another fifteen companies contributed to the action as donors and grand donors.
Thanks to the generosity and awareness of the public, we managed to collect a total of €50,000, thus enabling the You Go Culture team to realize its vision and spread the achievements of civilizations that laid the foundations for the development of modern world values to an international audience.
